The Tarun Gogoi government this evening announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to rising tennis star Somdev Dev Varman to encourage him to consistently excel on the international platform.
The press advisor to the chief minister, Debo Bora, said that Gogoi plans to hand over the award to Somdev at a function.
“We will invite him to a sports-related function in Guwahati and hand over the award to him.
