NBSE riders relaxed for Manipur students

Dimapur, February 9 : The Nagaland government cabinet has relaxed a number of riders concerning Manipur students appearing for their HSLC examinations (2010) under Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) in Nagaland. The Nagaland cabinet met on February 3 and discussed the matter, Chief Secretary Lalthara, IAS, informed in a note today. A number of stipulations decided upon by the cabinet, and to be implemented by the NBSE was  notified  today.

The government reaffirmed its earlier decision to allow students from Manipur to appear in the HSLC examinations conducted by the NBSE. The decision implies that some relaxations will have to be allowed in the admission procedure for Manipur candidates to this year’s HSLC under NBSE as has been done for the past three years. The relaxation will be applicable to only 43 students from Okai Academy in Mao and Dainty Kids School in Jessami and valid only for the coming HSLC examinations (2010) under NBSE.

36 students (21 boys and 15 girls) from Okai Academy in Mao “may be allowed” to appear the HSLC examinations at Viswema Government High School center by providing additional 36 seats for them. No arrangements for accommodations and transportation will be required as the students will come from Mao and return on the same day, the government said.

Seven students from Dainty Kids School in Jessami may be allowed to appear the examinations from Meluri Government High School centre by providing seven additional seats for them. There will be no need for special arrangements regarding accommodations and transportation.

These will have to be done by the students in concern, the government said.  The government notification said that the NBSE will make necessary arrangements for admission of the stated 43 students in relaxation of the normal rules as was done during the past three years. This way, the students may be enabled to receive their admission cards well in time for the examinations. The special arrangements and relaxation of rules will be made during the current year only and would not be extended, the note stated.
