Superintendent of Police, Coochbehar, Kalyan Banerjee said on usual suspect of a truck belonging to Jammu & Kashmir, it was stopped by police at a checkpost in Buxirhat from which the bottles were recovered.
Two persons, Harjit Singh and Kabul Singh, were apprehended, the SP said and added that the truck, which was on its way to Agartala from Patna, had rice sacks covering the bottles.
Investigation was on, Mr Banerjee said, adding Bihar and Tripura police have been informed. Coochbehar, Feb 2 Altogether 35,000 bottles of phensidyl were today seized from the Assam-Bengal border area of Buxirhat, 30 km from here, in the district.
