Asian Development Bank financial assistance

GUWAHATI: Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved financial assistance of 200 million US dollars for Assam Power Sector Enhancement Investment Programme.
This was informed by Union Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, in a letter to Chief Minister, Mr Tarun Gogoi, official sources said on Tuesday.
Apart from the loan, ADB would also provide a grant of one million US dollars for capacity development of the power sector utilities. Mr Mukherjee was appreciative of the active participation and cooperation of the state government for quick completion of the entire process of loan approval, the source said.
