The farmers were demanding permanent land settlement to the reserve forest dwellers, steps to arrest spiralling hike in prices of essential items and shelving of proposed mega dam projects in the north east.
They had alleged that the government was unsympathetic to their demands and had not sent any representative to talk to them.
