Everyone has to deal with a bully boss from time to time. Maybe it’s just a personality clash or, perhaps, your boss is plain crazy. On the bad days when you are ready to staple your mean boss’s toes to the ceiling, take a look at this list and just think it could be worse.
  1. Adolf Hitler – The man responsible for one of the world’s most devastating genocides in history. Would you want to work for him?

  2. Kim Jong ill – Despot of North Korea that took over from his father in 1994. During his reign, the country has suffered famine, lack of medical aid, and isolation.

  3. Al Capone – Famous mobster and notorious boss, Capone was responsible for the killing of seven men during the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. He ordered the killing of dozens more people and didn’t tolerate betrayal.

  4. J. Edgar Hoover – Former FBI director for 48 years. He used his position of power to amass secret files on political figures in order to attain more power for himself, authorized illegal methods to collect evidence, and was widely known as a racist; all the while hiding his own homosexuality. The mob was rumored to have pictures of him in drag, which blackmailed him from ever investigating the mafia and their actions.

  5. Naomi Campbell – She head-butts her assistant and flies into uncontrollable rages, but, while she may be a hard-headed boss, she remains one of the world’s most requested super models.

  6. Steve Jobs – One of Apple’s founders and supposed big-time jerk. Jobs has been accused of parking his luxury car in handicapped spots, playing practical jokes on employees and denying his daughter financial support for a number of years.

  7. Ken Lay – The founder of Enron continued to encourage employees to invest in his dying company despite his own cashing-out and running. He left thousands of employees without retirement or benefits.

  8. Gordon Ramsay – Host of Fox’s TV show ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ is renowned for being an arrogant restaurateur. He’s also been accused of having a seven-year extramarital affair and filing accounts late for consecutive years.

  9. Dov Charney – American Apparel CEO that had several sexual harassment charges levied against him. He has been accused of masturbating in front of an interviewing reporter in 2004, and appearing at business meetings scantily clad in loin clothes.

  10. Scott Rudin – Notorious for firing 250 personal assistants between 2000 and 2005 according to Wall Street Journal. Rudin himself disputed the article and said the number was closer to 120.

  11. Leona Helmsley – A NYC real estate broker who was convicted in 1989 of federal tax evasion. Nicknamed the Queen of Mean; she was reportedly overheard by her housekeeper as saying “we don’t pay taxes, only the little people pay taxes.”

  12. Bob Knight – Retired Indiana and Texas Tech men’s basketball coach that has a record of throwing chairs on the court during games, choking players during practice, and bad mouthing refs.

  13. Marge Schott – Former owner of the Cincinnati Reds baseball franchise. She was suspended in 1993 for racial epithets and forced to sell the controlling share of the team by 1998.

  14. Al Dunlap – Former CEO of Sunbeam Bread Company. Fired after only two years for his overly aggressive leadership style, decline in stock prices anddisregard for shareholders views of the company’s direction.

  15. Robert Crandall – Former CEO of American Airlines that was known for his salty language and advising his employees not to invest in the stocks of airlines; noting, “A lot of people came into the airline business. Most of them promptly exited, minus their money.”

  16. Jill Barad – Former CEO of Mattel Toy Company. Under her direction, Matel purchased The Learning Company for $3.5 billion in stocks during the Dot.com boom in the 90s. Matel then went on to bear the brunt of the multi-million quarterly losses from that company from 1998 to 2000; later selling The Learning Company for only a promise of future earnings.

  17. Lt. Col. Oliver North – During the Iran Hostage affair, Lt. Col. North was allegedly responsible for both selling arms to Iran, while they had American hostages, and then diverting profits to fund guerillas in Nicaragua. Congress had expressly prohibited helping the Contras in Nicaragua.

  18. Benedict Arnold – Infamous Revolutionary War general who switched sides after rival generals sullied his name. He later sought control of the fort at West Point, NY in order to surrender it to the British Forces but his plan was discovered after the capture of British major John Andre.

  19. Dennis Kozlowski – Ex Tyco CEO from 1992 till 2002 now in prison for grand larceny. Tarnished for his lavish lifestyle that included a $6,000 shower curtain, a $15,000 umbrella stand, and a birthday party that was $2 million dollars that Tyco helped pay for because it was a ‘shareholder meeting.’

  20. Andrew Fastow – Former Enron CFO now serving a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of wire and securities fraud. He cooked thebooks of Enron to hide billions in debt while showing a boost in profits; all the while he siphoned millions for himself.

  21. Judge W. Kennedy Boone – Washington County circuit court judge who referred to three black female attorneys as ‘The Supremes’ in open court and also recommending that one defendant be given a “competent male attorney”.

  22. Bernie Madoff – CEO of his securities company, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, has pleaded guilty to what has been called the largest investor fraud ever committed by a single person. His ponzi scheme has milked investors for billions.

  23. Martha Stewart – Convicted in 2004 of lying to investigators and conspiracy to obstruct justice in the case of selling 4,000 shares of ImClone stock negating a possible loss of 41,000 dollars.

  24. Graydon Carter – Vanity Fair Editor-in-Chief that is the basis for the lead character in the movie “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.”

  25. Elliot Spitzer – Former NY governor that resigned due to allegations of soliciting escorts and high end prostitutes.
